Facility Fact Sheet

Camp Location: The Foundation's modern recreational and meeting facilities are set on 43 acres of wooded land as part of a 230-acre horse farm in a Montgomery County, MD, agricultural preservation area. The Foundation also has use of the farm's 5-acre lake and riding stables.
Built: 1990-1991
Indoor Facilities: The Crab Indoor Activities Complex. Modern, two-building complex with 3,168-sq.-ft. of heated and A/C space for all-weather activities.

Red Crab Building. Built in 1995. Has a large-screen TV with VCR/DVD hook-up, wood-burning fireplace, popcorn machine, games including table tennis, air hockey, billiards, and indoor bathrooms.

Blue Crab Building. Built in 1996. Has a commercial-grade warming kitchen and serves as both a dining room and a gym for up to 100 people.

Medical Facility: Unicorn Health Center. Staffed by licensed medical practitioners, the center's facilities allow for administration of routine chemotherapy. Including 1 wing with 5 hospital beds and 4 private rooms which can sleep up to 6 medical staff members. Private bathrooms and showers.
Overnight Facilities: Bear, Deer, Fox, Hawk, and Owl Cabins. Five cedar log housing cabins, named after local wildlife. Each cabin has carpet, A/C, heat, private indoor bathrooms and showers. Each cabin sleeps 24 people in bunk beds.

Buildings are handicap accessible, have smoke detectors, emergency lights, and sprinkler systems.

Outdoor Facilities: Terrapin Nest. A multi-purpose, year round enclosed building with A/C.
Frog Playhouse. A 100-seat covered amphitheater.
Tree House. Screened in for small group activities. Ramp Access.
Ground lighting throughout the camp.
Recreational Facilities: 5-acre, spring-fed lake for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boating and fishing; a lighted, all-purpose sports court for badminton, volleyball, tennis, basketball, and shuffleboard; an above ground swimming pool, a campfire ring, a 9-hole mini putt-putt course, a confidence course that features 15 stations of low element activities, a softball field, an archery range, a playground structure, a pond and a stream-lined nature trail.
